Crunchy and delicious low carb, gluten free paleo crackers recipe!

There aren’t too many gluten free Paleo Crackers Recipes online and the few that I have tried came out soft and with a consistency similar to a cookie. So I wanted to share with you this great recipe! They are nice and crunchy and taste so good!

These crackers make a great snack and they taste good with any topping. My favorite toppings to put on these crackers are an avocado spread and coconut butter.

I tried these with the cinnamon and while I liked them, I was looking for something more savoury. Last night I mad them again with 1 tablespoon of mixed herb powder ( just mixed herbs put through my Nutri Bullet) and 1 tspn of organic garlic paste instead of cinnamon. They are just superb !!!!! Yum. Ideal for sack with cheese or nut butter. Many thanks for the recipe.

2 Tablespoons of Cinnamon, I’m thinking that a bit much. Don’t know what else I could have
done wrong. Can you help me with this. The taste was blane and on the cinnamon side but
    we ate them anyway.

Hmm..I wonder why the color would come out different. Maybe different types of almond flour could affect it. I do use 2 tablespoons of cinnamon. Hope this helps πŸ™‚

    Hi Lori,

Do you think that I could substitute Hemp Hearts in place of the flax seeds?
I have a bag of Hemp Hearts in the refrigerator that I would like to use up.

    Thank You.

Hi there, I am allergic to egg whites but not egg yolks. Do you think I could use 2 yolks instead of a whole egg?

This is wonderful! It’s so difficult to find a healthy cracker for my toddler that only loves crackers! Can I sub almond flour with arrowroot?

Hello, Do you know the net carb count on the Paleo Crackers?

Hi Donna, For the entire recipe it comes out to about 16 net carbs, you can just divide that by however many crackers you have, should be about 20 depending on size.

Is there a natural sweetener missing in the recipe? The texture and crunch is fantastic but I guess I am not accustomed to cinnamon baked goods that are in no way somewhat sweet. It’s a little bitter.

You can add a topping to them such as coconut butter, nut butters, or fruit spreads. Or you can add stevia to the recipe or raw honey.

These are really, really — GOOD!
I made these a few nights ago, and my 18-yr old daughter LOVED them (so did I). I made them with flaxseed meal because that is what I had, and they turned out so good! They should be rolled out thin, for more of a crunch. I made them a little thick, but they are still REALLY GOOD!!!

Thank you for posting this recipe, now I am not too afraid to try out some other recipes from the site! πŸ™‚

Can flaxseed meal be used instead of flaxseed? I don’t have the seeds but only the meal but I do have chia seeds so I’m going to go ahead and make the crackers with these. Maybe the answer to my question is an obvious one but I’m very new at Paleo and am already experiencing the benefits with how I am feeling overall, with less arthritic pain and some nice weight loss, even though I’m easing into it by using up what non-Paleo stuff I have. I was afraid that if I went “cold turkey” into it that I would give up but I know now that the way I’m feeling will be a great incentive. So I want to do things right and learn all I can so I can readily make it a way of life. I will admit that not having bread and pasta (and cheese) has been the toughest. Then I found you and read people’s reviews and I’m eager to try your recipes! I’ll be making your bread soon as I had to order the coconut flour from a local health store and am awaiting its arrival with eagerness. In the meanwhile, I’m making the crackers today!

Hi Gina, you can definitely substitute flaxseed meal in. That is a great way to start out with paleo, easing into it. There are so many great foods you can eat on the paleo diet, that you won’t even miss the other processed foods. Let us know how the crackers and paleo bread turn out, if you give them a try! πŸ™‚

With that I found out that I was also allergic to rice gluten.

Thank you for posting this recipe. Giving up chips and crunchy things has not been easy. I made these today. I omitted the cinnamon, and added ground rosemary, cracked black pepper and a little garlic powder. They were really good, and I will be making them again (and again and again).

Hi Ana, you can definitely substitute another spice! I have also made these using rosemary instead of cinnamon and they came out great! Any favorite spice should work to add a little flavor.
