Prevent the Stomach Flu Naturally with Coconut OilIt seems like everyone is coming down with the stomach flu recently. Nearly all of my coworkers have had it in the past 2 weeks. So, I’m doing everything I can to try to prevent getting it. The best thing I’ve been doing besides taking my food based multivitamin, eating good, and getting good sleep, is taking coconut oil. You can boost your immune system and prevent the stomach flu naturally with coconut oil!

I really think taking coconut oil has saved me from getting the stomach flu!

The stomach flu is caused by a virus and it can be easy to catch by coming into contact with someone that has it or any surface the virus is on. The virus can be on someone’s hands, the bathroom faucet, food prepared by a cook or even a towel or someone’s clothes. To prevent the stomach flu, you need to boost your immune system. Coconut oil is one of the best ways to prevent the stomach flu naturally because of it’s potent immune boosting properties.

Coconut oil is one of the best ways to keep the virus at bay! Taking coconut oil can even prevent the stomach flu naturally from starting after you’ve been exposed to someone with it or it can help shorten the duration of the illness.

Last Thursday I started getting a little stomach ache after lunch. This was not long after many of my coworkers were out with the stomach virus. So as soon as I got home, I doubled up my doses of coconut oil with a meal. Luckily, the stomach ache just went away and it didn’t turn into the full blown stomach flu!

Now, I don’t know for certain that the stomach flu was responsible for my symptoms, but I think I was starting to catch it, especially after being exposed to all my sick coworkers. I really feel that taking the coconut oil helped me fight it off and prevent it from becoming the full blown virus.

How Coconut Oil Helps Prevent the Stomach Flu Naturally

The best way to use coconut oil is to prevent the stomach flu from getting you at all. But you can also take it if you start feeling symptoms coming on! So many times it’s not too late to take coconut oil to save you. You can use it to reverse attack and fight off the virus before it fully attacks.

Coconut oil is an excellent immune booster! This is what makes it one of the best ways to prevent the stomach flu naturally! It contains a high amount of lauric acid, which is a healthy fatty acid that kills bacteria, viruses and reduces inflammation.

Research has also found that lauric acid helps dissolve the lipid coating around viruses so that our immune system can fight off the virus more effectively.

Coconut oil’s potent antibacterial, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties make it the ultimate immune booster to prevent the stomach flu.

Taking it regularly keeps your immune system strong and it can ward off viruses you are exposed to.

Not only do I take coconut oil every day regularly to prevent getting any sickness, stomach flu, viruses and colds, but at the first sign of any symptoms of a virus, I double my dose of coconut oil to fight any virus off.

What Kind of Coconut Oil Should You Use?

In order to effectively prevent the stomach flu naturally with coconut oil, you need to make sure you’re taking the right kind of coconut oil. The best and most effective type of coconut oil is organic, unrefined coconut oil. This is the exact one I take.

It’s important to get unrefined because when coconut oil is refined, it loses some of the lauric acid content. Making sure it’s unrefined and organic coconut oil is also essential because other types of coconut oil can be lacking nutrients and antiviral and antimicrobial properties due to the heating process.

How to Prevent the Stomach Flu Naturally with Coconut Oil

Now, that you have the correct kind of coconut oil, there is a specific way to take it in order to be sure to get the best protection from the stomach flu.

Take 1 teaspoon 2 times a day every day in order to prevent the stomach flu naturally. I take one in the morning with breakfast and one right before bed with a small snack.

I just eat it right of the spoon and wash it down with a drink of water.

I’ve been following this regimen and not only has it helped prevent the stomach flu, but also other viruses because it is super immune boosting.

*Note: If you have never taken coconut oil before, you may want to start out with just ¼ or ½ teaspoon 2 times a day. It can be a little hard to get used to taking. After taking it for a few months, I started liking the taste. I’ve been taking it daily now for almost 10 years.

If You Already Have a Symptom of the Virus:

Anytime I start feeling a virus coming on, I increase my dose of coconut oil to 3 teaspoons throughout the day. I try to space them out evenly. So I usually have one with breakfast, lunch and before bed.

It is best to space out the teaspoons in order to continually have the anti-viral properties of coconut oil working throughout the day fighting the virus.Prevent the Stomach Flu Naturally by Taking Coconut Oil. When I feel symptoms of the stomach flu starting, I take 2 teaspoons of coconut oil to prevent it and feel better.

I have not been sick in over a year thanks to Coconut oil.For the past year I’ve been using a tablespoon of Coconut oil every night to whiten my teeth. I usually just swallow after oil pulling. While my friends have been sick with all kinds of stuff around me, I never caught any of it. Now I know why.

Great post. While Coconut Oil has anti bacterial properties, you should also try Cinnamon for stomach flu which is ten times more powerful. Just get one Cinnamon stick (ideally a high quality Ceylon Cinnamon stick which has good levels of essential oil of the right quality) in one cup of water, slow boil it over 25 minutes and let it rest for 15 minutes then drink it. Stomach flu gone within an hour. You will burp a little and then feel much better.

If you want the nuclear option use 1-2 drops of Ceylon Cinnamon Bark Oil to a hot beverage (preferably a piece of boiled ginger). Ceylon Cinnamon Bark Oil is also well known to be an anti-viral. If you don’t have it handy you can try with Cinnamon powder. That also works if it has sufficient essential oils in it and has not been sitting around for a long time on your shelf.

    I make coconut oil fudge.

1/2 cup coconut oil slightly soften
    1/2 cup organic cacao power
1/4 cup honey a little more if you like it sweeter
    1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
I add not quite a cup of walnuts or any nuts you like.
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl except walnuts.
Hand mix till creamy then fold in walnuts.
Pour into a greased bowl or use parchment paper. I use a container aprox. 8″ x 5″
Put in refrigerator and let it get firm. Keep in refrigerator as the fudge will melt outside of frig.
This is very delicious and a good way to eat your coconut oil.

I have a similar recipe but I use Maple syrup instead of honey and sprinkle with chopped almonds and a little salt. The ratio is 2/3 cup coconut oil; 2/3 cup cacao powder and 1/3 cup maple syrup. I melt the solid coconut oil and then blend in the rest, pour into a cookie sheet with sides and covered with parchment paper and then sprinkle with the almonds and refrigerate. So mine ends up being more of a thin chocolate bar. It is so rich and delicious that I don’t eat as much chocolate like I used to. 🙂
