I recently had two dermatofibromas appear overnight and discovered a simple solution for how to get rid of a dermatofibroma naturally. It took several months for them to go away but, I’m glad they are gone and are no longer itchy or painful!

Nearly 2 years ago I discovered 2 small growths on my skin that I found out were dermatofibromas. The dermatofibromas were bothersome as they itched and were mildly painful on a daily basis. I had one on my shoulder and one on my leg. I decided to try some solutions for how to get rid of a dermatofibroma naturally and was pleasantly surprised to find they worked!

My 2 dermatofibromas are nearly completely gone! I am so happy that I tired the natural methods to remove the dermatofibromas instead of having them surgically removed.

I am still surprised that the natural methods for getting rid of dermatofibromas actually worked because my doctor said that the only thing that would work is surgical removal.

What is a Dermatofibroma?

Dermatobiromas are benign, harmless, non-cancerous skin lesions that typically have a small diameter. It is common to have one dermatofibroma or many.

Dermatofibromas are typically a small round raised area that is firm to the touch. They can itch and be painful, although not all of them are. It may depend on the location and size of the growth.

Research has found that the skin growth sometimes develop after mild trauma occurs in that area, such as a cut or insect bite. They can also just develop spontaneously.

Mine developed spontaneously after having a baby. I am thinking it may be related to all the hormone changes.

Conventional Treatment for Dermatofibromas:

There are several treatment methods recommended for removing dermatofibromas. The most commonly used removal methods for dermatfirbromas include surgical excision, shave removal, punch removal and cryotherapy.

There has been some research on removing dermatofirbomas with fractionated carbon dioxide (CO2) laser. The research on using laser looks promising and there is minimal scarring compared to having a dermatofibroma surgically excised.

Discovering a Natural Way to Remove a Dermatofibroma

Since my dermatofibromas were so botherseome., I decided that I wanted to look into how to remove a dermatofibroma and where I could get it done. I made an appointment with a dermatologist, which took several months to get into. Then, he said that he had to refer me to a surgeon because he does not remove dermatofibromas. So, I made an appointment with a surgeon, which also took several more months to get into. At the time, I was disappointed that I had to wait so long, but it actually ended up being a good thing!

I tried researching how to get rid of a dermatofibroma naturally and even though there is little information on it, I did find a few suggestions. Since, I had to wait to have mine surgically removed, I decided to try the natural ways to get rid of a dermatofbiroma in the mean time. Even if they didn’t work, I was hopeful it might at least help reduce the itching and pain.

How to Get Rid of a Dermatofibroma Naturally: What I did to remove my dermatofbiromas

What I used:
– Jojoba oil
– Vitamin C/jojoba oil tincture

The main method I used for how to get rid of a dermatobiforma naturally was massaging and keeping it moisturized.

I applied a tincture with vitamin C and jojoba oil three to five times a day. To apply it, I used my fingers to apply about a quarter sized amount to each dermatofibroma. I massaged it into my skin for several minutes. Before bed, I applied plain jojoba oil and massaged it into my skin for several minutes.

How Long Did it Take to Get Rid of a Dermatofibroma?

It took quite a long time for my dermatofibromas to mostly disappear. I felt relief from the itching and pain after a few weeks of using these methods.

I would say it took about 9 months to a year for the dermatofibromas to completely disappear. After about 5 or 6 months, the dermatofibromas were noticeably smaller and less red. I am happy that I kept up with it and didn’t give up. The main reason I kept using these methods for so long was because it helped relieve the pain and itching from the dermatofibromas.

Is My Dermatofibromia Completely Gone?

My dermatofibroas are not 100% gone. As you can see in my after picture, there is still a slightly pink area where the dermatofibroma was. I’m not sure if that will ever go away. There is no longer a raised bump though. I also no longer have any itching or pain from the dermatofirboma. It is nearly completely gone.

Other Methods to Get Rid of a Dermatofibroma Naturally:

When I was researching how to get rid of a dermatofibroma naturally, the other method I read about was using apple cider vinegar. Some people have had success with applying apple cider vinegar to the dermatofibroma.

This method reminds me of when I used apple cider vinegar to remove a mole. It was successful for removing a mole, so I definitely considered using this method. But, I found just the vitamin C, jojoba oil and massage combination to work for me so I never got around to trying it.

Please note that I checked with my doctor before giving this natural method a try.

Hi! I have three dermatofibromas, one on my arm and two one my right leg. I have been applying frankincense sacra essential oil twice daily to the one on my arm and it has shrunk and flattened out a lot. But I started talking a magnesium supplement about 4 weeks ago and I just noticed today that two of the dermtofibromas are almost completely gone and the third is smaller. I couldn’t believe it I’ve had these things for a few years and hate them. I don’t know for sure if the magnesium is what made them disappear but it might be worth a try.

You know, it’s interesting that you say this, Brandy.

I have been getting migraines during my menstrual cycle. I did some research and discovered a magnesium supplement can help alleviate them.

I’ve been taking a magnesium supplement for quite a bit now, although I don’t take it everyday (some days I forget). Anyway, thanks to Brandy’s comment, I just checked mine and I have to say, while it’s not completely gone, it has definitely flattened out. I have not been applying anything else to them, as everything I have tried has only aggravated them.

      Very interesting!!

Glad I found this ! I have several DFs including a decent sized one on my forearm. I’ve scratched it by accident in my daily activities. While it usually doesn’t bleed, it is tender & I don’t like the looks of it. Before getting my dermatologist to remove it, I’ll probably try a home remedy 1st. Anyone had any luck w/tea tree oil! ? Thanks in advance .

I’ve tried tea tree oil on mine for about 6 months and NOTHING! My mom says it looks smaller to her but I don’t see it. When I finally went to the Dr. to find out what it was my nurse informed me that tea tree would have only worked if it was a fungus and it is not . Before my doctor’s appt. I wasn’t sure what it was, I thought it was a wart.

What made you decide to go with vitamin c and jojoba oil? Would another, say, Vitamin e oil, work in your opinion?

Thanks for this post — definitely going to give this a try!

    Hello,
I had a dermatofibroma on my knee surgically removed that involved 3 stitches. They took a sample and made sure it wasn’t cancerous.
All that together was $400 out of pocket. I have a light scar and I’m okay with that.

Now I have another on my arm that is 2 years old. I pick it like crazy till I expose raw skin. Then the skin hardens (its gross and thick) and I pick it again. As much as I would love to try home remedies, I’m beyond repair. I will have to visit a dermatologist soon because I’m tired of picking!

Readers be stronger than me! Don’t pick/scratch!

I used about a teaspoon of jojoba and only a few drops of the vitamin C.
